Roma Plastilina, the top choice for modeling professionals, is an oil-based, non hardening compound that can be worked with again and again. Because it contains wax instead of water, plastalina remains pliable but cannot be kiln or oven baked dry. Use armature with plastilina to hold the sculpture in place.

Jolly King Plasteline is a wax based, sulphur free compound that produces a smooth, pliable,non-hardening modeling material.

Creative Paperclay is a non-toxic modeling material that can be sculpted, molded or shaped, and air dries (no baking!) to a hard finish that can be carved, or sanded.

Prang Das Modeling Clay is an air-hardening clay with a smooth, even texture that can be used on supports such as wood, cardboard and terra cotta. After drying for 24 hours, it can be painted or varnished.

Sculpey is America's first oven baked clay. Non-toxic and safe for educational use, Sculpey clay is soft and pliable, and it works and feels like ceramic clay but will not dry out when exposed to air. After baking, it can be sanded, drilled, carved and painted with water-based acrylic paints or Sculpey Glaze.

Van Aken Claytoon is a non-hardening modeling clay, sold in sets of four, that is an oil-based compound with a smooth consistency.

Armature &Coatings

EnviroTex Lite is a water clear reactive polymer compound. It cures to a thick, glossy coating in about 8 hours at 70°F, and reaches full strength and toughness in about 48 hours. This durable, resilient material requires no polishing to produce a high gloss.

Activa Activ-Wire Mesh is the perfect armature or structural support for all of your modeling. With a unique material for direct wire sculpture and an amazing general art and craft material, Activa is made of non-rusting aluminum. It is easy to cut with household scissors, and it's oven-safe.

Powertex Textile Hardener hardens both paper and fabric after drying. Excellent for creating stone looks on finished clay pieces, Powertex can also be used for liquid sculpting. Available in transparent, gray-green and terra cotta.
