The Sam Flax Wall project is a block party style celebration dedicated to fostering collaborations and partnerships. By establishing a visual presence we hope our community will join us in using art to shed light on issues in today’s society.
Chaya Av is a Miami-born interdisciplinary artist and muralist currently living on the Space Coast of Florida. By relying on the chaotic stream of consciousness while also being heavily influenced by natural organic forms, human emotion, music, and decorative art, she creates colorful and spontaneous imaginative works that are experimented through multiple areas of art such as paper-cutting, digital design, hybrid printmaking, and installation.
Chris McAlister is a freelance painter, carpenter, and nature enthusiast. Currently splits his time between traveling as a scenic carpenter on production/theatre shows and working at scenic shops in the Orlando area. His work within this industry affords him flexible schedule to paint and explore what nature has to offer in his down time. When not painting or building something he can be found hiking, climbing, or kayaking.
Growing up in the Bronx, NY, Danny Rock has always had a passion for the urban arts. Combining the stylistic influences of the Renaissance era with the Hip Hop and Graffiti movements, Danny has developed a unique method of rendering each of his sketches into finely crafted graffiti mural masterpieces.
Art making has been at his core even from my earliest memories. He has explored many avenues, including printmaking and painting, during his undergraduate studies at Rollins College then at Savannah College of Art and Design where he received an MFA in Illustration. For more than the past decade he has become passionate about ceramics. He has been a teacher of all these mediums as well as watercolor painting. Art is as essential to him as shelter, food and oxygen.
Lesley Silva’s work bears witness to the results of contemporary hysteria, specifically the ways in which mental illness complicates communication and creates dysfunction in human connections. Lesley wants to attract a curious viewer, her art serves to open conversation about the human embodiment of identity; through trauma, privilege, power, and manipulation.
SKIP is the host and creator of the reality-art-tv show “SKIP’s Big Ideas,” and of the social propaganda machine known as Franchise Industries, a creative lens which re-presents popular advertising and pop-culture branding in a more honest and truthful interpretation. His works highlight and critique social, political, religious & cultural issues in a humorous, engaging and often interactive presentation.
